Retirement from Public Teaching

Dear Friends & Students,

It is with a deep sense of honor to announce that after dedicating forty years of my time and energy to the study and teaching of Seven Star Praying Mantis Kung Fu, I am officially retiring from the arena of public teaching.

Praying Mantis kung fu continues to be a large part of my life and I remain as passionate today as the first day I started this incredible journey. It has afforded me tremendous privilege and opportunity to study with great teachers, travel around the globe, experience new cultures, make long lasting friendships, and enrich the lives of many students around the world with this great art. My journey is far from over but a new chapter begins.

As part of my legacy I continue to teach four closed door students including Nathan Wright, Cameron Hirst, Andy Best, and Dennis Seet, who will continue to represent our proud Luo Guang Yu Seven Star Praying Mantis family lineage well.

It is during these very difficult times that I want to wish everyone a very warm and heart felt Merry Christmas, and all of the best in health, happiness, and prosperity in 2021, year of the Ox.

Be kind, be safe, and train hard. Thank you!

Kai Uwe Pel
