I have had a number of enquiries from people asking me whether Michael Streit continues to be my student. The short answer is no and has not been for some time. Effective October 1, 2015, I made the final decision to stop teaching him, and no longer regard him as one of my students. My decision was not a personal one and was based on an observed pattern of deteriorating behavior displayed by Michael over a number of years.
Michael demonstrated a poor attitude and work ethic towards learning traditional 7-Star Praying Mantis (Qi Xing Tang Lang) that resulted in limited incremental improvement and ultimately regression in the final years. He also made questionable life choices at times including use of PEDs (Performance Enhancing Drugs) that in my opinion did not set a good example for other students or the community at large. Even more fundamentally he did not reflect the healthy values and traditions that myself and our Luo Guangyu Seven Star Praying Mantis kung fu family promotes.
I hope Michael he is able to get back on the right track and wish him all the best in his future endevours.
